Bimlic Kennels is owned and operated by Karen and Don Rankins. The owners have built and maintained a satisfied clientele over the past 33 years. The facility is located just one mile south of the village of Ilion. It enjoys the peacefulness of a country setting though it is easily accessed from all major highways, including the NYS Thruway.
The kennel includes 35 indoor (4 foot x 4 foot) chain link runs within the concrete block building, which extend outdoors to 4 foot x 10 foot chain link runs. All gates include safety latches. All outside runs are covered with welded wire for security reasons. Dogs have free access to the outdoor runs except during inclement weather when access is controlled. The building is heated for animal comfort and in the summer months it remains airy and comfortable within. Concrete is used for the base inside and out to allow for an excellent sanitized condition. The cattery is provided for in a separate section of the building. The current building was designed and built by Don with a great deal of help from friends James Busch of Herkimer, NY and home improvement contractor Henry Heinlein of New Hartford, NY.
